Situated on top of the work is a design inspired by (1) the symbol “∞”, standing for the Latin word, “infimitas”, which in mathematics represents infinity; and (2) the “Möbius strip” found in Topology which signifies that recycling is a sustainable project. The five strips, in five different colors, indicate the “Five Elements” in Chinese philosophy. Since the elements support one another, they combine to create a harmonious new world. “Flower” in Chinese is pronounced “hua”. However, with a little twist, “hua” can be distorted into “fa”, which in Chinese bears the meaning of “prosperity”. It is therefore hoped that this heat-recycling project will eventually bring great prosperity to the Houli people.
