The hand-cut and attached mosaic artwork makes use of Taiwanese butterflies and flowers as the main characters, including the pachliopta aristolochiae, the common tiger butterfly, and the lantana camara, against the backdrop of intricate mosaic and terrazzo. The artwork implies that the days of the caterpillar may be hideous and dreary, but when it emerges as a butterfly, it will be able to dance and fly, and take in the fragrance of flowers while enjoying the blue sky and sunshine, and weaving its own life.
