Taiyuan was known as Da keng kou (big pit), which was also known as the “heavenly fountainhead” as it is the source of the water that irrigated the land and created the idyllic scenery of the town. The lives of early Taiyuan townspeople were centered around water, and that’s why the artist uses “water” as theme and takes inspiration from the variety and permeability of water to create an artwork that reflects the rail-track-like networks that flow in our hearts.
